University Discipline Process

The University's Disciplinary Process is housed in the Office of the Dean of Campus Life. The mission of the discipline program is to support the University mission to educate students to think and act in an ethically and socially appropriate manner.

Guided by the philosophy of educational discipline, the non-academic discipline process focuses on:

  • Consistent and equitable application of community standards for student conduct;
  • Hearing procedures that are just and that balance the rights of the accused and complaining parties and maintain dignity for all involved;
  • Student learning opportunities for ethical growth and development in connection with disciplinary and grievance processes; and
  • Appropriately swift response to students whose behaviors pose a threat to self or others.

Detailed information related to the disciplinary process and the student code of conduct can be found in the Student Handbook.
